Just finished watching the Elementary pilot.

It was… Good!

I actually had very high expectations about the show. And it was good, really, but I felt odd watching it, like something was missing. Something in the setting was off for me, the whole thing going on in New York is not something that I really like, bit it can be ignored.

Lucy Liu actually made for a decent Watson, and I applaud her for that, because she did became a lovable character after all the hate that was thrown at the show before it even started. Everyone did well, but I did find the acting a bit flat at times and I wasn’t really pulled in. Miller’s Sherlock was really good, he showed emotions and actually tried to be subtle and not hurt Joan’s feelings at a point. [and then proceeded with ruining her car, which was fun!] He also had tattoos. Tattoos are good.

The story itself was more like a CSI episode that a Sherlock Holmes story, so I wasn’t that invested in it.

As a whole, the show wasn’t lacking good scenes, I loved the beekeeping and the baseball and the villain. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it, because I actually did.

I hope that in the other episodes they will straighten the little things that bug me, I plan on continuing to watch it.
